OCR Definition
OCR technology (Optical Character Recognition) or otherwise Robotic Process Automation refers to software that has the ability to read texts, sentences, and words through which it recognizes the information desired by its user.
It is usually used in documents derived from scanned files. OCR serves to convert an image or file into electronic format text.
OCR Technology
The OCR uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and is trained through Machine Learning to achieve more effective recognition and extraction of characters from a document in image (jpeg, png) or file (pdf) format.”
The OCR technology presents two methods of Optical Character Recognition application: “Template Matching” and “Feature Extraction,” which operate in combination aiming for maximum efficiency.
Optical Character Recognition operates on every type of digitized document, while with continuous exposure to a specific file type, such as invoices from a company appearing frequently, it is trained and yields better and more reliable results over time.
