OCR

Η τεχνολογία OCR (Optical Character Recognition) ή αλλιώς Οπτική Αναγνώριση Χαρακτήρων, αφορά λογισμικό το οποίο έχει τη δυνατότητα να διαβάζει κείμενα, προτάσεις και λέξεις μέσα από τα οποία αναγνωρίζει τις πληροφορίες που επιθυμεί ο χρήστης του.

Συνήθως χρησιμοποιείται σε έγγραφα που προέρχονται από σκαναρισμένα αρχεία. Το OCR χρησιμεύει στη μετατροπή μιας εικόνας ή ενός αρχείου σε κείμενο ηλεκτρονικής μορφής.
